TERRACOTTA / FIRED EARTH

The word ‘terracotta' derives from Italian and simply means ‘fired earth', though the word is often used to describe the orange-brown colour of this red-burning clay. Usually brown or buff in colour in its raw state, this EARTHENWARE clay turns to its distinctive orange colour in the kiln, when fired to its maturing temperature.

Traditionally used in building & architectural work from basic bricks & tiles to ornate embellishments, terracotta is all around us; it is decorative, practical and brings a natural warmth and beauty to our homes and gardens.

Established in 1989 Weston Mill Pottery is a family run business committed to working with this beautiful & versatile material, & continuing to produce quality handmade terracotta products in the UK.

DESIGN – ORIGINATION – MANUFACTURE

With an in house design & origination service we are available to develop products, produce samples & ultimately manufacture quality products for our customers & welcome all enquiries, large or small.
